Perou for the Guardian I will be 40 in 18 months. This seems ludicrous now, when so many year-old women are at the height of their powers professionally, just starting families, going to music festivals and running marathons. Fifty, 60 and 70 bear little resemblance to the mature years of a couple of decades ago. While I agree with many of the concerns people have about the pressure on women to look younger, I also think it's perfectly natural to want to look as youthful as you feel inside. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to seem knackered when you are, in fact, full of energy.
