Her first appearance is in the original Halloween film, in which she is played by Nancy Loomis. Annie is one of Laurie Strode 's best friends, and the daughter of Haddonfield's sheriff , Leigh Brackett. She is portrayed as having a very rebellious and sardonic personality. On Halloween night, she is babysitting Lindsey Wallace near Laurie, and the two friends gossip over the telephone throughout the evening.
Harkens back to Carpenters spacial sensitivity brand of horror, which in many cases succedes, even if its often self referential to a fault. There's a flashback that; i kid you not; uses footage from the original movie. It's quite immersion breaking, especially with the very dated SFX. With some tweaks and tricks to give the movie its own flavor. The slow burn scenes that bleed into intense terror sequences are the strongest parts of the movie. The climax in particular is very satisfying.
